Climb 4 Kidney Cancer Team Climbs
Half Dome for
Elleni F. whose life has been changed by Kidney Cancer-Her Story
Climb: Half Dome, Yosemite, CA
Sept 2015, 8,839 ft.
As we continue to try to raise awareness of how kidney cancer affects people around the world, we plan to climb the iconic Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, California, September 2015.
This incomparable rock which rises 4800 feet above Yosmite valley, when surveyed by Josiah Whitney of the California Geological Survey in the 1870’s was deemed perfectly “inaccessable”. But we are hoping to climb to the top of Half Dome to show that “impossible” things, like overcoming kidney cancer, CAN BE DONE. We are inspired by Elleni F a mother who was diagnosed with kidney cancer when her daughter was only 18 months old. Read Elleni’s story.
Check out our proposed route up the snake dike route to place the Climb 4 Kidney Cancer colors on the top of this iconic dome. This majestic monolith is the crown jewel of Yosemite National Park. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for upto date pictures and videos @climb4kc.
