In Memory of Jack Warning
Husband, Father, Avid Sports fan, basketball and softball coach and a former Olmsted Falls Parks and Recreation board member, and Olmsted Falls Citizen of the year 2019.
July 19, 1936 - August 26, 2025
Jack Warning lived a remarkable 88 years filled with service, spirit, and unwavering dedication to his community. Among his many achievements, one of the most meaningful was being named Citizen of the Year in Olmsted Falls (2019)—an honor that reflected a lifetime of giving back.
A beloved presence in Olmsted Falls, Jack spent decades coaching basketball and softball, cheering on generations of athletes, and proudly embracing his title as the Olmsted Falls Super Fan. For more than forty years, he was a familiar face at Bulldog sporting events, offering encouragement, camaraderie, and a contagious enthusiasm that lifted everyone around him.
Jack’s commitment to caring extended far beyond the sidelines. He volunteered as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit baby cuddler, supported children as a MetroHealth System child life volunteer, and dedicated his time to Meals on Wheels, delivering comfort and connection to those in need.
During the ceremony honoring him as Citizen of the Year, the Mayor shared,
“Jack lives his life exhibiting a strong sense of community, commitment and loyalty—always trying to do the right thing regardless of whether anyone is watching. Jack lives for Olmsted Falls, and so many have benefited from his dedication.”
Jack accepted the award with humility, saying,
“I am glad I was able to help this community. I didn’t do it all at once, but just a bit here and there. It’s a great community.”
Later in life, Jack faced high-risk metastatic kidney cancer and ultimately underwent surgery due to pain from a large tumor. Despite being 88 years old, he recovered quickly and was soon back on his feet after a laparoscopic nephrectomy—a testament to his enduring strength and resilient spirit.
Jack’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the community he cherished, and the example he set through quiet acts of kindness, loyalty, and heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
