Jack Warning

Husband, Father, Avid Sports fan, basketball and softball coach and a former Olmsted Falls Parks and Recreation board member, and Olmsted Falls Citizen of the year 2019!

Jack Warning has accomplished much in his 88 years. One of his most prized awards was citizen of the year of Olmsted Falls in 2019. Jack has always been a big part of his community as a coach in both basketball and softball, but also as a huge bulldog fan. He was recognized as the Olmsted Falls Super Fan. He has been a fixture at Bulldog sporting events for more than four decades. In addition, Jack also was a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit baby cuddler and MetroHealth System child life volunteer. He was active locally in Meals on Wheels.

In the ceremony where the Mayor awarded Jack the citizen award it was said, “Jack lives his life exhibiting a strong sense of community, commitment and loyalty -- always trying to do the right thing regardless of whether anyone is watching. Jack lives for Olmsted Falls, and so many have benefited from his dedication,”

Jack said after being awarded the prize, “I am glad I was able to help this community,” he said. “I didn’t do it all at once, but just a bit here and there. It’s a great community."

Jack was diagnosed with high risk metastatic kidney cancer and eventually underwent surgery because he was experiencing pain from his large tumor. Though 88 years old at the time, he recovered remarkably quickly and was soon out of the hospital after a laparoscopic nephrectomy.
