Janessa Warner

Janessa is the only one we’ve climbed for without kidney cancer. She had colon cancer. She was in her mid thirties when she was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer and the mother of two children. She fought hard, but was worsening with complications associated with her cancer and treatment as we were preparing to climb. We told her family we would climb for her. Hoping for a recovery, a little more time with the family she loved.

Unfortunately, almost exactly as we summited the Grand Teton, Janessa passed away. We didn’t realize the timing until we got down and got cell phone service. You can read her obituary here. Our condolences to the Warner and Van Dyke families and friends.
