Dr. Patrick Riggs

Husband, Father, System Chair of Vascular Surgery Rochester Regional Health

Patrick Riggs is a 62 year old vascular surgeon who transferred to Cleveland clinic for treatment of a newly discovered renal cell carcinoma. Weirdly, in his role in upstate NY, where he is system chair of vascular services, he works commonly with the nephrologist when vena cava thrombectomy is needed and performs vena cava replacement for sarcoma and portal vein replacements for pancreatic cancer. After experiencing hematuria while operating, a workup would demonstrate the surreal advanced disease with blood vessel involvement which he had treated with unusual frequency this summer. Several of the urologic surgeons that he works with regularly trained in Cleveland and there was no doubt that the team was very experience in such cases and well respected.

Cleveland clinic graciously got him immediately into the system and planned out a multi team complex surgical resection. He is recovering well with the help of his enormously supportive wife Gail, and has immense gratitude to his entire treatment team

Dr Riggs and his wife, Dr. Gail Riggs are the first Super Summit donors!
