A Shock Diagnosis
For Carlo, kidney cancer came as a complete surprise. During a routine physical, a small lesion was discovered on his liver, which led to further imaging. A few days later, while on a walk with his wife, his doctor shared the news: a tumor had been found on his kidney and would need to be removed.
“It was scary and very emotional,” Carlo recalls. “I’m fortunate to have such a supportive family and friends.”
Quick Action and Successful Surgery
Within weeks, Carlo underwent surgery with Dr. Christopher Weight to remove the tumor. After a biopsy confirmed kidney cancer, Carlo focused on recovery and embraced the support system around him. Today, he is cancer-free and continues to thrive.

Carlo credits his wife, family, faith, and even his pup for helping him navigate the uncertainty of a kidney cancer diagnosis. “They were my rock,” he says, emphasizing the importance of leaning on loved ones during challenging times.

A barber for 27 years, Carlo enjoys spending his free time with his wife and family. He also loves traveling, working out, and indulging in good food—simple joys that remind him to savor every moment.
