In Loving Memory of Mike

Mike was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2004. Through the course of his battle with kidney cancer, he underwent many surgeries and systemic therapies. He remained upbeat and positive. He first met Dr. Weight at the University of Minnesota in 2013 at the first Climb 4 Kidney Cancer Event in TCF (now Huntington) Bank Stadium with his friend Nathan Honson. They became active partners in the formalization of the non-profit Team8 of which Climb 4 Kidney Cancer is the main division of this organization. He was very influential in the direction of the organization and at his funeral he asked that in lieu of flowers that people donate to Climb 4 Kidney Cancer and he raised over $30,000! Even with metastatic cancer he climbed all 6000+ stairs at the stadium
