In Loving Memory: Honoring Sharon Stageberg’s Legacy of Love

At 73 years old, Sharon Stageberg was enjoying the things she loved most — spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and baking treats for her family. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Sharon was known for her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family.

When she began noticing changes in her health — including symptoms that seemed unusual — she sought medical care. After testing, doctors delivered the heartbreaking news: Sharon had kidney cancer.

“She was devastated,” her family shared. “It wasn’t something she ever expected to hear.”

A Fighter at Heart

Despite the shock and fear that come with such a diagnosis, Sharon faced her cancer the same way she had faced everything in life — with quiet determination and deep love for her family. Surrounded by her husband Doug, her children, and her grandchildren, she made the courageous decision to undergo surgery in hopes of giving herself more time with the people she adored.

Her family was by her side through every step — comforting her, supporting her, and reminding her of the many lives she had touched.

“Doug, the children, and her grandchildren helped her through everything,” her loved ones said. “She drew her strength from them.”

A Life Defined by Family and Joy

Outside of her battle with cancer, Sharon’s life was filled with joy. She loved traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and baking the recipes that brought smiles to her family’s faces. Her warmth and energy filled every room she entered — and even in her hardest moments, she kept her heart focused on love.

Her Lasting Message: Fight

Before her passing, Sharon shared one simple, powerful piece of advice for anyone newly diagnosed with kidney cancer:

“Fight.”

Those who knew Sharon say that one word sums up her spirit perfectly. She fought for her life, for her family, and for more moments of laughter and togetherness. Her courage continues to inspire those who face their own battles with this disease.
