At 60 years old, Susan began experiencing back pain—something that seemed ordinary at first but turned out to be the first sign of something far more serious. After medical testing, she received an unexpected diagnosis: kidney cancer. The news came as both a shock and a source of deep fear.

Facing Treatment with Strength

Susan underwent surgery to remove the affected kidney, followed by chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. He was able to successfully remove the cancer while leaving her with one fully functioning kidney—even though her remaining kidney wasn’t in the usual anatomical position.

Life Beyond Cancer

Outside of her treatment, Susan works as a County Recorder. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching her son race cars—moments that bring her joy and a welcome distraction from the challenges of recovery.
